The Process

[ConsultationWriting Your CeremonyPresenting Your CeremonyFeesKeepsakes]

The heart and soul of any ceremony begins with your own personal story – your uniqueness. Together, we craft a personal and meaningful event that reflects and celebrates this special time in your life. Your ceremony is an authentic expression of who you are: down to earth, whimsical, formal, humorous, traditional, eclectic, radiant or sublime. Together we weave a tapestry of authentic reverence, authenticity, and meaning.

I will walk with you through all of the aspects of this process.

Consultation

  • We will meet in person or over the phone for a no-obligation interview to discuss your vision for your ceremony or special occasion.
  • I will share ideas about ceremony,  samples of rituals, poetry, readings and music.
  • To secure your date, an agreement form will be signed and a deposit will be collected, with the balance due two weeks before the ceremony
  • After your agreement has been signed and the fee collected, I will ask you to provide me with some personal information by filling out a questionnaire. This information is kept private, and only used by me to create the ceremony script, and to add elements that truly represent you.

Writing your Ceremony

  • I will guide you in choosing rituals, readings, symbols and music for your ceremony.  You can draw on any philosophy, religion, or secular tradition that is meaningful to you. You may include anyone or any object that is special to you. This includes pets, children, friends and relations.
  • I use my extensive knowledge and resources on rituals from various traditions, poetry and inspirations, plus incorporate the interview stories provided by you.
  • I will create a rough draft of your ceremony and will collaborate with you, inviting your edits, revisions, and blossoming ideas.
  • I will spend as much time as it takes to create the beautiful ceremony you will love. You have the final say on the overall feel of the ceremony. Your ceremony will be uniquely your expression.
  • Together, we work collaboratively to develop a ceremony event to honor and respect your values, beliefs and traditions, whether religious, spiritual or secular. As a Life-Cycle Celebrant®, I specialize in multi-cultural and multi-traditional story and expression.
  • You will also receive a beautiful Keepsake Copy of your ceremony!

Presenting Your Ceremony

  • I will present your ceremony with heart and soul.  I will orchestrate and facilitate the flow of the ceremony, working with musicians, photographers, family, and guests to ensure the smooth outcome of your ceremony.
  • If a rehearsal is needed, it can be scheduled.
  • Small changes can be made if need be, that are in keeping with the intent of the ceremony.

Fees

As a Life-Cycle Celebrant®, I provide a distinctive and personalized set of services. I often spend 20 hours or more customizing each ceremony to meet your specific needs, values, beliefs, and traditions.

Fees are quoted individually, based on the size, venue and ceremony complexity.

Fees are all inclusive of:

  • Planning, research, design and scripting of all ceremony elements—including writing your personal story as the ceremony centerpiece.
  • Officiating the ceremony on the day of your event.
  • Conducting a rehearsal if needed.
  • Consultation by phone and email during the planning process.
  • Providing cue sheets for musicians and ceremony participants.
  • A beautifully-rendered final copy of your ceremony.

Keepsakes

With every ceremony I create and officiate for you, you will receive a custom, hand-made “Keepsake Ceremony” copy from me. I tailor make these to reflect the feeling and meaning of your very special day. My hope is that whenever you look at your special “Keepsake” that you will remember your ceremony with fondness. I will also provide you with a digital version so that you may send it along to those who may have not been able to attend your ceremony.
