Marriage & Commitment

Your ceremony is the Heart of your wedding, life-partner commitment, or vow renewal. It is why your family and friends have gathered to witness and share in your happiness, and it is what you will remember and cherish throughout the years.

How do you come up with a ceremony that becomes the centerpiece, the heartbeat of your special day? You want something that is honest, genuine and truly reflects who you are as a person and as a couple.

I can help you craft a beautiful and meaningful ceremony that expresses your uniqueness and honors your values, traditions and beliefs in a genuine and significant way.

Some Guiding Questions for your “Story of Love”:

  • What do you want to evoke with this ceremony?
  • What makes you and your partner special?
  • How did you find one another and fall in love?
  • What are the religious, spiritual, and intellectual touchstones in your lives?
  • How can we honor your story, your family, your history?

Another approach is to start by thinking about the five senses:

  1. What do you see when you look at your beloved?
  2. How has your beloved touched your life?
  3. What are the words you love to hear that come only from your beloved?
  4. What are the smells (perfume, flowers, food prepared) you associate with your beloved?
  5. How would you describe the taste of sweetness that makes you a couple?

These are just some of the things to think about when creating your personal “love story”. Our five senses are a beautiful and powerful barometer of showing us what is most important, meaningful and valued in our lives.

I’d love to pull up my chair next to you and actively listen as you tell me the story of how he and she became “we.”

In the meantime, here is a poem I’d love to share with you called “These Are The Hands” that speaks so well about life-long commitment to the one you love.

I would be honored to officiate at your ceremony. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, ideas, or to set up a no-obligation consultation.
